The aims of the Beaulieu History Society are:- to stimulate and increase interest in the history of Beaulieu and the surrounding area, to promote original research, to become a centre of information and publicity and to encourage the other advantages and benefits usually associated with a society.
Beaulieu Parish, located in the south-east corner of the New Forest National Park, is an unspoilt area at the head of the tidal reaches of the Beaulieu River. Beaulieu village, itself, centring around the high street, has not changed very much over the years: the village centre has remained compact with red brick houses consisting of a variety of shops, homes and businesses.
The parishes of Beaulieu, Exbury and East Boldre in the New Forest lie between the outskirts of Lymington and the communities along Southampton Water, bordering the north shore of the Solent on both sides of the Beaulieu River. This is a beautiful and peaceful part of Hampshire full of bees and butterflies, ponies and partridges. Here one can surely see the works of God.

Boldre is a large parish in the New Forest National Park extending from the Solent three miles north, containing 10,370 acres of land, of which 63 acres are covered with water. It comprises a number of distinct settlements, the largest being the villages of Boldre itself and Pilley. The character of the area has been created by the particular landscapes of the New Forest and the Solent coastline. Forest edge settlements using local materials and vernacular architecture have developed to the north, while large country houses predominate towards the coast and along the Lymington River.
